Zeiss introduces new release of Ophthalmic Data Management Software and Glaucoma Management Application

Eye care professionals can now interactively review visual field data away from the instrument and combine structural and functional information for increased practice efficiency.

PI_0025-2013_dlBased on the Eye Care Data Management system FORUM® from Zeiss, the FORUM Archive & Viewer 3.1 increases practice efficiency, saves time, and improves clinical case visualization. Ophthalmologists and optometrists managing glaucoma patients will particularly benefit from the new FORUM Glaucoma Workplace, a clinical application that lets eye care practitioners interactively review visual field data and combine information from the HFA perimeter and Cirrus OCT.

“Besides increasing practice efficiency”, says Dr. Ludwin Monz, President and CEO of Carl Zeiss Meditec AG, “the new FORUM Glaucoma Workplace supports ophthalmologists and optometrists in making clinical decisions based on relevant clinical case data. ”

FORUM Archive & Viewer 3.1

Eyecare professionals can now scan through OCT data and quickly absorb the clinical information thanks to the improved navigation. The clinical case data is visualized in clinically relevant ways. Third party instruments and IT systems can be integrated due to standard interfaces and additional integration tools. Thus, it increases efficiency and saves time by communicating bi-directionally with connected instruments and providing remote access to all patient records.

FORUM Glaucoma Workplace

FORUM Glaucoma Workplace extends the FORUM platform, enhancing the user and patient experience. It enables ophthalmologists and optometrists to interactively analyze HFA perimetry data, including the Guided Progression Analysis (GPA), away from the instrument in the exam lane in an interactive way. As the FORUM Glaucoma Workplace application automatically combines structure and function numerical data from the HFA perimeter and Cirrus OCT, it streamlines assessment by improving clinical case visualization. Furthermore, it differentiates the practice because it facilitates patient education. The application increases overall practice efficiency and patient throughput and will also support eye care practitioners who own one or more HFA perimeter or Cirrus OCT instruments.

FORUM is a data management system for ophthalmology focused on increasing efficiency in eyecare professionals’ practices and hospital ophthalmology departments. FORUM supports ophthalmologists and optometrists in their everyday work. It is offered in two versions: FORUM Archive – the central storage solution for all ophthalmic examination data – and FORUM Archive & Viewer – the comprehensive software solution for data management in ophthalmology.
