Mandurah to host EYRES Action Sports Games

ASG_Email_Banner-smallThis year Mandurah will again host the EYRES Action Sports Games and the International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation [IWWF] World Cup for the second year running after proving itself a global event with fierce competition last year.

 

The IWWF World Cup is an annual global series with slalom, short board and big jump combined with wake boarding, barefoot jumping and waterskiing. Over 100,000 visitors turned out to watch the world’s best water sportsmen and women deliver thrills and spills at last year’s World Cup, the first of 4 to be held in Mandurah.

IWWF President, Kuno Ritschard, said the Federation is delighted to be returning to Mandurah this year. “It’s a wonderful town with perfect conditions for our event so it’s a pleasure to bring our elite waterski and wakeboard athletes to Mandurah.”

More than 150 of the world’s waterskiing and wakeboarding stars from 24 countries will make their way to Western Australia to contest the world title and their share of the $300,000 prize pool up for grabs.

Australian wakeboarding prodigy responsible for taking the sport to another dimension, Harley Clifford, is confirmed to compete and defend his title as 2011 and 2012 IWWF World Wakeboard Champion. Clifford will be a favourite to take hope the title for a third consecutive year after exciting the huge crowds last year with his formidable tricks. The games also coincide with the annual Channel Seven Crab Fest, adding more vibrancy and excitement to the City of Mandurah.
