Maui Jim introduces new eyewear features retro styles – a throwback to the styles of the 70s.
The three new designs feature Maui Jim’s proprietary MauiPure lenses, which are ultra-lightweight, scratch- and impact-resistant. The hybrid, injection-molded, de-centered lenses are the lightest lens material in the Maui Jim portfolio, and are optically clear (ABBE value of 50).
All Maui Jim lenses are packed with up to nine layers of patented PolarizedPlus2 lens
technology, that has received the Seal of Recommendation from The Skin Cancer Foundation, as the technology cuts 99.9 percent of glare and eliminates 100 percent of UVA and UVB rays.
Breakers
This doublebridged, high-grade nylon aviator shape is quintessentially retro with its ‘70s motorcycle-inspired design. The lightweight frame is injection-molded into a comfortable 8-base curve with spring hinges on the temples for a comfortable fit. The saddle-style nose bridge has embedded rubber pads for added stability. In addition to the PolarizedPlus2 lens technology, this style also features Maui Jim’s bi-gradient mirrors that offer added sun protection at the top and bottom of each lens. This frame fits midsize to large face shapes with an eye size of 64 mm, bridge size of 17 mm, and temple length of 122 mm.
Legends
These lightweight acetate sunglasses have a right-from-the-movies look, with their squared-off shape and distinctive temples. The anti-corrosive spring hinges help these sunglasses stay snug and secure. The saddle-style fixed nose bridge works with wider noses. Designed for a range of smaller to midsize face shapes, Legends has an eye size of 54 mm, bridge size of 23 mm, and temple length of 135 mm with a 6-base curvature.
Honomanu
The Honomanu features a classic ‘70s teardrop shape in an oversized metal aviator. The ultra-light pure titanium frame is dressed up with an acetate overlay, while the nose bridge is adjustable for maximum comfort. The lenses feature MauiGradient tinting that is darker at the top of the lens and gradually gets lighter towards the bottom. Honomanu is suitable for a wide range of faces sizes and has an eye size of 61 mm, bridge size of 14 mm, and temple length of 137 mm with a 6-base curvature.
