In another first, FourPlus Media paid a fitting tribute to the stalwarts of the Indian optical industry, by launching a coffee table book called the Visionaries.
Visionaries is a compilation of the families that have shaped the Indian Optical Industry to what it is today. It revisits the journeys of these pioneers, and commemorates their efforts and achievements.
The Visionaries book was unveiled at a glittering ceremony on 9th March, 2014 at the Westin Mumbai Garden Hotel, also coinciding with VP Awards night.
The book was unveiled by industry veteran Shri Dhirubhai Daftari, amidst an anxious audience that included one and all from the Indian optical industry.
Speaking about the vision behind this book, Mr Siraj Bolar, CEO of FourPlus Media and Editor-in-Chief of VisionPlus Magazine said “The idea for this project began in my mind in the most unexpected way. It was when I had visited a friend, an ophthalmologist by profession, for a consultation regarding a minor eye problem at that time. During the process of testing my eyes, he asked me, ‘… Being so popular in the optical industry, why have you not thought of bringing out a book on the pioneers that spearheaded its formation? …’ This is what lit a fire in my belly, and I strived towards that goal with complete focus …”
