Eye-care practitioners, ophthalmologists and students will benefit from the Knowledge Fest Conference

Masterclass Optometry, a unique educational initiative which works to upgrade the optometry profession in India, is organising a three-day fest of knowledge, skills, fun and networking in the form of an optometry conference called Knowledge Fest 2015. In the first two days, eminent speakers like Vivek Mendonsa (‎Marketing Director, Lawrence & Mayo), Boman Bharucha (Owner, A Dinshaw & Co), Nilesh Thite (Director of Educational Programs, International Association of Contact Lens Educators) and Prema Chande (Principal, Lotus College of Optometry) will share their knowledge, wisdom and experience with those present. The last day will be dedicated to workshops that help enhance practical skills and teach how to put the newly acquired knowledge and skills into practice immediately.

Who should attend?

Any eye-care practitioner who is directly involved in patient/customer care would benefit from the conference. A student of final year Bachelors and Masters, who would soon be applying the newly acquired knowledge, can sharpen his practical skills for better patient satisfaction. An ophthalmologist who would like to start/develop fitting of contact lenses or learn how to recommend the right eyeglasses would acquire the required knowledge from the conference.

Why should you attend?

The optometric practice is all about first hand clinical experience, to gain confidence in handling patients in the clinic. It is about winning the patient with effective communication skills. All this and much more needs to be mastered for being a successful optometrist. Hence, for the first time, a conference with emphasis on the practical aspects of optometry has been planned. The Fest would focus on topics such as Online Business, Practice Management, Contact Lenses, Vision Therapy, Diagnostics and Optometry Education. The workshops will be held on topics like Diagnostic Instruments, Advanced Contact Lens (CL) Fitting, Use of Slit Lamp Bio-microscope for CL fitting and Consultative up-selling.

Speaking about the conference, Nilesh Thite and Yeshwant Saoji stated, “We challenged each other to offer a memorable educational experience to our fellow professionals and here we are bringing the best from the optometry field for you (optometry professionals) to share knowledge, experience and expertise.”
