Brando Eyewear Announces Alyson Magee License

Alyson Magee will be one of the anchor brands along with Yohji Yamamoto in the Brando family

Brando Eyewear recently announced a licensing agreement with Alyson Magee. The license is mostly said to run until 2022 and will be joining the Yohji Yamamoto label as anchor brands for the Brando family. The first collection of sunglass and optical frames will launch in the fall of 2016 and will be available to retailers worldwide.

Brando_Logo_OnBlack-page-001Starting in the mid 80’s with Alain Mikli, Alyson is best known as the co-founder and creative force behind the Face à Face brand for nearly ten years. She has worked for brands as diverse as Lafont and Anglo-American and in 2005 Alain Mikli launched the first Alyson Magee collection under license, where it ran for five years. Since leaving Mikli she has worked under the radar for some of the world’s best known brands.

According to Magee, “I am thrilled to again have a great home for my own collection and Brando has the kind of reach, energy and creativity that it takes.”

Brando’s Chief Dreamer, Michael Jardine said, “I have long been a fan of Alyson’s work and this collection will dovetail well into the Brando vision. We are dedicated to the creation of beautiful high value eyewear for discerning consumers and retailers, via a small group of legendary designers and house brands that will all be revealed in the coming weeks and months. The first was Yohji Yamamoto and now Alyson Magee. We can’t wait to tell you about the rest!”

Brando Eyewear is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Mondottica Group.
