Slated to be held from April 22 to 24, 2015, at EXCO in Daegu, the 14th Daegu International Optical Show (DIOPS 2015) claims to be the largest and only optical show in Korea. Daegu, where Korea’s first optical industry was born 70 years ago, is home to the country’s leading optical companies. The event is hosted by the Daegu Metropolitan City and organised by the Korea Optical Industry Support Center and the Korea Optometric Association. Co-organisers include the Asian Federation of Optical Associations, Korea Optical Industry Cooperative, Korea Optical Fashion Industry Association and the Korean Society of Vision Science, amongst others.

Over 500 manufacturers, out of a total of 700 optical companies in Korea, are located in Daegu, which is why DIOPS is held in Daegu every year, drawing numerous buyers and visitors to the show. This year’s show will be attended by approximately 222 companies displaying 1,000 brands and drawing around 30,000 visitors, including 1,500 international buyers from over 30 countries, in a venue covering 20,077 square metres.
