WooDone, the South Tyrolean wooden eyewear brand founded by Thomas Oberegger and Klaus Tavella, has a unique personality that defines the brand style.

The pure landscapes of the Dolomite Mountains inspire shapes evocative of the legends of eyewear to then marry them with the natural allure of wood. The new models of the Sun Collection have a vintage and stylish edge to it, that is set apart by their strikingly squared shapes, generous size and bold look.

For summer 2016 WooDone unveils one women’s and two unisex sunglass styles. BELLA, beautiful in name and appearance, stands out for its soft, feminine lines. SAMOHT and SUALK are the visual extension of the brand’s DNA – the former in rectangular style with 70s glamour and the latter a remake of the double bridge, according to the WooDone playbook. And, yes, the original names of the two new styles are the founders’ names spelled in reverse.

WooDone eyewear is made from a single piece of wood whose origin is certified by the Alto Adige Region and come in Acacia, Cherry, Walnut and Ash. Untinted, they rely on the natural beauty of each type of wood, enhanced by a special lacquer finish which makes them durable, eco-friendly and hypoallergenic. Each item, crafted by the expert hands of South Tyrolean artisans, is composed of eight layers of particleboard glued one to another, thanks to a custom-developed technology engineered to leave the natural veins of the wood intact, forming a sheet from which the front and temples are then obtained.
