DIOPS 2018: Taking The Right Steps To Expand The Korean Optical Industry!

This year DIOPS has worked to ensure business participation in DIOPS in order to secure the opportunity to alleviate difficulties in the Korean Optical Industry and expand export by pioneering new foreign markets

The DIOPS secretariat has worked hard to ensure business participation in DIOPS in order to secure the opportunity to alleviate difficulties in the Korean optical industry and expand export by pioneering new foreign markets. Marketing preparations are also underway to expose new firms and brands that filled 60 percent of total seats.

DIOPS

DIOPS 2018 is holding its 17th event next year. It seeks to take various steps to better show the ever-changing and expanding Korean optical industry. Also, the buyer matching service has been expanded with plans to increase satisfactory results through smart matching that meets the demands from foreign buyers using the ‘Korean Optical Selling List’ created last year.

The secretariat seeks to target the issue of market expansion, something that has been regarded as one of the weaknesses of DIOPS so far. It plans to expose DIOPS to untapped markets and countries to deviate from leaning too much on certain export markets and expand buyer blocs. It also plans to consistently connect with Southeast Asian markets including Taiwan, Malaysia, and Indonesia that proved to have significant purchasing power during this year’s DIOPS and expand their size of participation in the next year’s show. So far, Vietnam’s Ho Chi Minh Optical Association, Turkish Optical Association, and Importers from Dubai are being incorporated into newly built networks to invite buyers from various blocs around the world.

Models and fashion show shoots provided to the participating companies for marketing use led to positive responses, which paved a way for an increased number of brands and firms to take part on stage next year.

Moreover, KOIA will be managing the list of participating companies as well as work on inviting more buyers and running the show. The second round of early bird registration will close on 31st of December, with benefits including a 10 percent discount for booth reservation, and another 10 percent discount for companies participating in the show twice consecutively.
