Collin West from Keeler Ophthalmic Instruments visited Lotus College in September 2012 and was particularly impressed with the work done by optometrists in the pediatric ophthalmic department and the outreach program for primary eye care services provided by the institute’s interns in the slums of Mumbai.
Following this, he donated a Keeler portable slit lamp (PSL) to the college. The PSL is an important instrument in pediatric eye care, mobile clinics, and for examining domiciliary patients. Mr West pointed out that the instrument would add value to the existing work done by the college’s outreach and pediatric departments.
