Silmo 2013, A resource serving the needs of its market

Scheduled for 26 – 29 September, the MONDIAL DE L’OPTIQUE (World Optical Fair) is set to underpin its unique positioning: to be a genuine business platform showcasing brands and companies in the global optics and eyewear sector, a resource serving the needs of its markets and offering a high return on investment for both exhibitors and visitors.

SILMO-2013-CP_mars_EN-1An exhibition area of 80,000m2 spread over two halls within Paris-Nord Villepinte, an exhibition centre that hosts all the major international business exhibitions (including SIAL, Maison & Objet, Première Vision, Intermat) located midway between Paris and Charles-de-Gaulle airport.

950 exhibitors from all over the world representing 1,350 brands and taking advantage of the exhibition to present their new collections, launch new labels, showcase their innovations and designs via the Trends Forum and participate in the SILMO d’OR, the only awards scheme recognised by the profession.

34,696 visitors in 2012: 54% from abroad and 46% from France, 70% of whom are final decisionmakers in terms of procurement and/or product indexing; professional attendees satisfied with their meetings held and products discovered. 82% have stated their intention to return in 2013.

A whole raft of resources available to enhance their knowledge and improve professional practice: the  scientific symposium under the SILMO ACADEMY umbrella, Technical workshops, Lab Tech and Merchandising workshop.

A powerful communications and information campaign ensuring worldwide media coverage (136 trade journals), a website which attracts over unique 175,000 visitors per exhibition, newsletters sent out to more than 100,000 contacts, the LINK by SILMO blog and a digital trends magazine MO by SILMO (3 editions per year).

Last but not least, a well-coordinated logistics operation ensures easy access to the Paris Nord Villepinte exhibition centre: a dedicated reception desk at stations and airports, a free shuttle service every day from 8am to 7pm (CDG Airport/Paris Nord Villepinte and Porte Maillot/Paris Nord Villepinte) in addition to all the usual modes of access: (RER B, car or train).

In this way SILMO PARIS, (World Optical Fair) continues to fulfil the key elements of its remit: to unveil and promote new products and talent, provide training, showcase innovation and drive sales on behalf of and in collaboration with all sector professionals.
