For the coming summer, Persol is launching ‘Vintage Celebration’ with new colours joining those selected from its historical archive
Along with the classic shades like, Virginia tobacco, coffee and Sienna, there are a number of extra colours that are inspired by the 60s, and emulate the mineral world. Obsidian, cobalt, garnet and amber, with special antiqued versions, enhance the look of the new Persol women’s and men’s models.
The exclusivity of Vintage Celebration is also emphasised by the fact that a selection of the new sun models feature only polar and photopolar lenses. Lightweight and comfortable – thanks to a thickness of only 1.8 millimetres – made of crystal glass using cutting-edge technologies and scrupulous craftsmanship, these lenses provide effective protection from radiation, and offer sharp vision.
Innovative features are also used in the new Persol Reflex Edition, a fascinating blend of design inspired by vintage cameras and the authentic style of the brand. For the two models of the collection, Persol now presents the folding sun and optical version, plus two new proposals that extend the family of this unisex collection.
‘Contrast’ is the keyword defining the style of the new Persol Contrasti eye-wear collection for men and women. The new model has fascinating retro lines with futuristic finishes and acetate rims with a metal frame on the top section. The colour contrasts are emphasized by the choice of double-layer acetates which are used for the first time in the Persol collection, due to the new eye-wear construction preventing the historical arrow from being ‘submerged’ in the acetate.

First produced in 1957, this is the model which, more than any other identifies as Persol. Made popular by Marcello Mastroianni, who wore it in the film, Divorce Italian Style, the design has been tremendously successful. The frame is in acetate and distinguished by ultra-flexible temples – thanks to the exclusive Meflecto system – and to the unmistakable triple-notch Victor Flex nose bridge.
The 649 colour range has acquired four new compact acetate shades, with special antiqued treatment : obsidian with brown polar lens; cobalt – exclusively for Persol – with green polar lens, garnet with photopolar gradient green lens and amber with gradient blue polar lens.

The comfortable slim-design version of the famous Persol 649 features all the exclusive details of the original, but in a ‘light’ version. From the Supreme Mini Arrow highlighting the frame, to the reduced Victor Flex version with its unmistakable triple-notch nose bridge, it adds comfort with style effortlessly.

This model features all the technical details to ensure utmost fitting comfort.

The Reflex Edition collection, inspired by vintage cameras, has been highly appreciated since it was launched, thanks to its contemporary design, which blends the lightness of the slim metal temples and nose bridges with the iconic Persol motifs. Today, its appeal is even stronger thanks to the folding version, made possible by the craftsmanship skills that have always distinguished the brand.

The square frame with gently smoothed corners consists of a slim metal bar joining the front and the temples in a single line. Thanks to this single bar, Persol has been able to use special double-layer plastics – featuring a contrasting coloured top on a havana or opaque crystal base – creating a model with an outright contemporary look.
