ROLF Spectacles is on a successful course – the ‘Kallista 04’ out of the ‘main collection’ has recently been awarded with the German Design Award 2015 in the category Excellent Product Design Lifestyle.

The ‘Kallista 04’ in bog oak-walnut is available in four different wood combinations. The frame impresses with its masculine and flamboyant design and the accustomed manner of craftsmanship and high-quality and accurate finish.

“These amazingly lightweight frames are made of wood and produced by a small family-run business in the Tyrolean mountains. ROLF unites a love of design, a fascination for wood and the thrill of creating something new and previously unknown. Kallista has a wooden hinge that means metal and plastic can be dispensed with entirely. Thanks to a patented glazing system every pair of ROLF glasses comes without screws and requires no maintenance. But above all, this high-quality, excellently finished frame looks excellent and is pleasant to wear.”

The international jury, with 30 design experts, had to choose from 2.250 top-class entries in 10 categories to single out the best designs. The German Design Award 2015, the international premium award of the German Design Council, was awarded to 20 Gold-Winners and up to 10 Winners per category honouring national and international high-quality product and communication design.
