At a spectacles distribution event in Chennai, the former cricket icon distributed spectacles to 84 individuals, who were among 130 underprivileged community members, drivers and others vision screened.
The initiative, organised by India Vision Institute (IVI) and supported by Five Star Business Finance Limited, underscores the critical importance of a clear vision for daily life and safety.
IVI ‘s CEO Vinod Daniel, said “We are working to bridge the gap in eye care accessibility for underserved populations. By providing free vision screenings and corrective glasses, we empower individuals to lead more productive lives and enhance economic opportunities.”
“This collaboration with Five Star Business Finance Limited has been instrumental in reaching thousands of underprivileged in need, screening 6,600 individuals, 3,661 spectacles being provided, 864 cataract referrals made to our partner hospitals, and facilitating 105 cataract surgeries,” he said.
“We thank Srikkanth for his participation in our campaign and encouragement,” added Mr Daniel.
