Shanghai’s premier optics fair sees record growth, innovation and global collaboration

The 23rd China (Shanghai) International Optics Fair (SIOF 2025) took place from February 20–22, 2025, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, with the theme "New Quality Productivity, New Growth Drivers, New Vision."

This year’s edition saw an impressive 971 exhibitors, including 340 international brands from 23 countries, spread across 115,000 square meters, marking a 60% increase from last year. The event attracted 140,000 visits, a 37% rise, with attendees from 95 countries and regions.

SIOF 2025 featured six key categories—frames, lenses, international brands, contact lenses, instruments, and optometric services—while renowned exhibitors like Marchon, Safilo, and Chang’s showcased their latest collections.

Marcolin returned with BMW, Tom Ford, ic! Berlin, and Zegna. The International Pavilions, featuring Japan’s Fukui Optical Association and the Hong Kong Optical Manufacturers Association, highlighted premier eyewear innovations.

To foster global trade, 23 overseas buyers from 13 countries participated in a business-matching program. A Korean delegation of 300 industry leaders engaged in curated networking sessions.

Meanwhile, forums, seminars, and the debut of the ‘Potential’ Space Station at Hall W4 explored new trends in fashion, technology, and consumer behaviour.

The fair provides an excellent opportunity to learn about future trends for the upcoming winter and spring seasons from top eyewear forecasters.

It serves as a prime platform for global suppliers to showcase their latest products and technologies, while buyers can explore the latest eyewear styles and upcoming autumn trends.
