MEI is pleased to announce the successful inauguration of the new facility in Bangalore, marking the official launch of the MEI India subsidiary. The Grand Opening event, held on July 4th and 5th, represents a significant milestone for the company. The event started with a ribbon-cutting and lamp-lighting ceremony, led by the MEI President, Stefano Sonzogni. The lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolising unity, respect, and a shared vision, was significant. It represents the removal of darkness (ignorance) and the spreading of light (wisdom, clarity, and progress), making it a fitting tribute to the inauguration of our new facility.
MEI was honoured to host numerous companies, industry professionals, and attendees, and to conduct several insightful interviews.
Mr. Sonzogni shared his thoughts on the occasion: “From a business perspective, finally being here in India — close to one of the world’s fastest-growing markets and near our customers, who are our most valuable asset — is truly motivating. It drives us to innovate continually in the eyeglass field. We strongly believe in the value of local presence—when a vendor is embedded within the territory it serves. A close relationship with our customers fuels both our proactivity and creativity. We are confident that MEI’s new branch in India will significantly strengthen our presence and effectiveness in supporting our customers, who depend on us for their business success.”
This event underscored MEI’s commitment to innovation and excellence in the optical industry. The company is excited to continue its journey in India, fostering growth and collaboration.
The Bangalore facility hosts a dedicated showroom with MEI machines, where skilled technicians provide live demonstrations. The establishment of a local warehouse ensures faster delivery of spare parts, significantly reducing inventory at the customer’s end. Additionally, the facility includes a repair department and a specialised tool resharpening service.
MEI extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined the event and looks forward to leveraging this new facility to better serve customers and drive further advancements in the optical industry.
