Garrett Leight Eyewear Celebrates 15 Years With Japan-Made Frames

Garrett Leight celebrates 15 years with Japan-made frames and refined classic designs.

Garrett Leight California Optical is moving all its eyewear production from China to Japan, starting with its Fall 2025 collection, which also marks the brand’s 15th anniversary. Since its founding, GLCO has produced most of its eyewear in China for cost reasons, even as competitors relied on Europe and Japan. The shift comes after recent tariffs on Chinese imports accelerated Leight’s long-planned transition.

Japan is renowned for precision and craftsmanship in eyewear, and the move reflects the brand’s commitment to quality, timeless style, and premium materials. GLCO has already tested Japanese manufacturing with its Garrett Leight Blue collection earlier this year.

The change will bring a slight price increase, with entry-level frames rising from $355 to $395, while materials and construction remain unchanged. The Fall 2025 collection will celebrate the 15th anniversary by revisiting popular styles in fresh colourways with refined craftsmanship.
