Rokid Enters North America With AI Smart Glasses Launch in Canada

Rokid has officially entered the North American market with the launch of its AI powered smart glasses in Canada, combining augmented reality, artificial intelligence and prescription eyewear in a lightweight everyday design.

The global smart eyewear company unveiled the Rokid Glasses in Toronto, marking its first North American launch. Designed for daily wear, the glasses support prescription lenses through a new partnership with Ming’s Optical, a Markham-based optical supplier offering a broad range of prescription options for Canadian consumers.

According to Zoro Shao, Vice President and Global General Manager of Rokid Group, Canada was a strategic choice due to its multicultural and multilingual population.

“Canada is one of the world’s most linguistically diverse countries. Rokid Glasses are designed to reduce language barriers through real-time AI translation, helping people connect more naturally in everyday life.”

AI-Powered Everyday Eyewear
Built around an ultra-compact Micro LED display engine, Rokid Glasses discreetly project information into the wearer’s field of view while allowing users to remain fully aware of their surroundings. The smart glasses feature dual eye monochrome displays, integrated directional speakers and a lightweight design intended for extended daily use.

Users can choose between AI assistants including Google Gemini and OpenAI ChatGPT, enabling access to real-time translation across 89 languages, voice assistance and AI-powered productivity tools for work and everyday communication.

The glasses also feature an integrated 12 MP high-definition camera supporting visual search, image translation and hands-free photo and video capture. Turn-by-turn navigation and contextual information are delivered through private directional speakers, reducing dependence on smartphones.

Building an AI Ecosystem
Alongside the hardware launch, Rokid introduced its AI Agent Store and Rokid AI UI platform in Canada, allowing developers to build and publish AI-powered applications specifically designed for smart glasses.

The global developer ecosystem has already attracted more than 3,000 AI workflow submissions, with over 400 applications currently available through the Rokid Agent Store. The Canadian rollout aims to encourage local developers to create new AI experiences for the growing platform.

With AI-driven wearables rapidly moving into mainstream consumer technology, Rokid’s Canadian launch represents another significant milestone in the evolution of smart eyewear, positioning the company to compete in one of the industry’s fastest-growing categories.
