Luxottica Announces PPE Certified, Military-Grade Eyewear For Consumers

Luxottica recently launched the “Shield Your Eyes” initiative in response to a growing consumer demand for eyewear that provides extra coverage for everyday life and sport. The current offering includes Oakley® and ESS (Eye Safety Systems) clear and photochromic products

For the first time, consumers will have access to Luxottica’s ESS brand, whose products meet or exceed the most stringent U.S. military testing standards. For decades these have been designed and distributed for military, first responder and industrial use and certified as PPE (Personal Protection Equipment).

The “Shield Your Eyes” product offering also includes the Oakley Clear Collection which was developed in response to a growing consumer demand for eyewear that provides extra coverage for everyday life and sport. Whether you have an indoor training session planned or are running errands, this new versatile collection has you covered.

The new Oakley Clear Collection are certified PPE devices. Some of the models even provide levels 1 and 2 grade protection, which is considered the highest in eyewear protection. All the models however guarantee the wraparound feature alongwith basic, high safety standards that one has come to expect of all Oakley eyewear.

Both Oakley and ESS Protective products will be available from mid-July 2020 at select Oakley stores besides Magrabi, sunglass hut, Solaris, The Cycle Hub UAE along with other stores expected to be added across the GCC region.
