Vivienne Westwood Shines In India Debut Fashion Show

Luxury fashion house Vivienne Westwood hosted its first-ever fashion show in India

Heritage met rebellion as Vivienne Westwood debuted in India with a grand fashion show set against the historic Gateway of India.

The early 20th-century arched monument, overlooking the Arabian Sea, provided a dramatic backdrop to a show that fused British punk with Indian craftsmanship.

Under shimmering lights, models walked the runway in a blend of Westwood’s avant-garde silhouettes and India’s traditional weaves. It was a bold dialogue between couture and culture, with chanderi silks, khadi cotton, and wool taking centre stage. A special capsule crafted in collaboration with an Indian design institute and supported by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission added a sustainable edge. The event unveiled the Spring/Summer 2025 collection and featured standout archival looks.

Celebrities like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Aditya Roy Kapoor, Twinkle Khanna, Vijay Varma, Disha Patani, and Manish Malhotra added star power to the evening. The show also marked the runway debut of Vivienne Westwood Eyewear in India. With dramatic forms and signature detailing, the sunglasses echoed the brand’s rebellious spirit, crafted for those who prefer to stand out rather than fit in.

Now launched in India, Vivienne Westwood Eyewear is available at select optical boutiques and fashion retailers. This introduction is part of a strategic alliance between Mumbai-based Pearl Enterprises and Mondottica India, the name behind several leading international eyewear labels.
