Linz, October 2011: Specialist sports glasses manufacturer adidas eyewear is celebrating receipt of another award. After carrying off the red dot award in the category ‘product design’ in January 2011, the sports glasses evil eye halfrim pro has now won a second prestigious award. At Silmo, an international trade show for the eyewear industry which was held in Paris between 29 September and 2 October 2011, this versatile half frame model was awarded the “Silmo d’Or 2011” in the category ‘sports equipment’.
Product features which also impressed the high-ranking, eight-strong jury of the “Silmo d’Or”. This prize, created in 1994, is awarded in eight different categories to top quality products which stand out in terms of innovation, technology, creativity and competence. This year too, five products from different manufacturers were nominated in each category from the many submissions. The evil eye halfrim pro was named best product in the category ‘sports equipment’ in Paris and awarded the ‘Silmo d’Or 2011’. Christian Jany, Global Media Manager at adidas eyewear responded by saying, “We are delighted to be acknowledged by this top-class jury and to win the ‘Silmo d’Or 2011’. Two awards in such a short time, the evil eye halfrim pro seems to be getting off to a flying start”.
The evil eye halfrim pro, like all the models in the adidas eyewear collection, is designed and produced in Austria by renowned eyewear manufacturer Silhouette International.
