India Vision Institute in association with Vision Plus Magazine is organising a panel discussion on “Spectacles for Every Indian – Making it a Reality”

Worldwide, an uncorrected refractive error has become one of the largest causes of vision loss. A pair of spectacles play a major role in the prevention of blindness. The collaboration between Public Eye Health Personnel and Optical Industries is the key to achieving success in providing spectacles across India, including the underprivileged.

Dr Rohit C Khanna,
Director, Gullapalli Pratibha Rao International Centre for Advancement of Rural Eye care (GPR ICARE)

Dr Rohit C Khanna works as faculty at L V Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI) and is the Director of their Public Health division i.e. Gullapalli Pratibha Rao International Center for Advancement of Rural Eyecare (GPR ICARE). He did his residency in India and has also done Masters from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and The Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. He is a Senior Visiting Fellow at the University of New South Wales, Australia too.


Prof Monica Chaudhry,
Contact Lens and Low Vision Specialist;
Retired Senior Optometrist, AIIMS;
Ex-Director, School of Health Sciences, Ansal University.

Prof Monica Chaudhry is a practising Contact lens and low vision specialist who brings with her more than three decades of clinical and academic experience. She is a retired senior optometrist from AIIMS ( All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi ) and ex-Director School of health sciences, Ansal University. She has authored several books and published several papers. She is on the panel of advisory and key opinion leaders in several institutions and has been the chair of the optometry council of India. She is a member of the national task force in MohFW in optometry.

She has been awarded the Global educator award and Australian leadership fellowship award and The Shreshtshree award by the Delhi citizen forum. 


 

Milind Jadhav
Senior Director Inclusive Business & Philanthropy

Milind Jadhav working in Essilor India Private Limited as a Senior Director for Inclusive Business, Philanthropy & Social Impact- South Asia. He is responsible for spearheading the initiatives pertaining to building affordable and innovative vision care solutions for the Base of the Pyramid Population. He also works to raise awareness about the socioeconomic impact of uncorrected refractive errors and the quality of life benefits of visual correction. He is also in charge of Essilor Vision Foundation – A trust that focuses on improving awareness and provides access to vision care to the needy.


Anshu Taneja

Anshu Taneja has MBAs from the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford (United Kingdom), and Amity Business School, Noida (India). He is also a Science Graduate from St. Stephen’s College, University of Delhi (India). Anshu has several years of experience working across different countries and sectors in a variety of roles. Anshu has had long stints with Johnson & Johnson and Karl Storz in various capacities. He has also worked with De Beers, Riders for Health, and Opera Software in the United Kingdom and Europe. Anshu has been leading VisionSpring in India since 2013 and has grown its impact 10-fold.
