Women and Eye-Health

India Vision Institute in association with Vision Plus Magazine is organising a panel discussion on “Women and Eye-Health”

Worldwide, the prevalence of vision loss is more in women (55%) than men (45%). Women’s longevity and their restricted access to eye health care services due to socio-economic conditions and cultural beliefs are probable reasons for this gender inequality in vision loss.

The discussion aims to deliberate on women and the most prevalent eye health issues among them, barriers to access eye health care services, and the economic and social benefits a pair of spectacles will bring. It will discuss ways to raise awareness of the importance of vision among women.
