Vision Rx Lab hosts its annual forum to foster sustainable business development in changing times
In the age of disruption powered by digital and technological advancements, an informed consumer market and intense market competition, the key to sustained business is Innovation.
Innovation has been the central point of discussion at VRX Global Innovation Summits, and this year too Vision Rx Lab presented its latest innovations in a product line, marketing and services to its 65 global partners gathered at Leela Ambience Hotel in Gurgaon for a two-day conference held on Nov 11-12, 2019.
In the opening presentation Lalit Kumar Gupta, CBO, Vision Rx Lab, stressed on the need to counter commoditization through innovation, “In a world where everything is digitized businesses need to pursue innovation to disrupt their own business model before the competition does. Without innovative strategies, companies will lose their competitive advantage in an increasingly commoditized world. Hence for sustainable business, it is necessary to add value with innovation in products and services”.
Vision Rx Lab unveiled the latest innovations in protective lens material and AR coating categories needed for today’s active lifestyle. For optimal UV protection, Vision Rx Lab introduced UV Max, an advanced lens material which completely cut out harmful UV Rays up to 400 nm ensuring greater comfort and protection for wearers.
In the AR coating category, Satin Klear UV is the latest in the kitty, which is one of the most advanced and transparent AR in the market with 99.6% transmittance and exceptional resistance to high temperature. Satin Klear UV reduces annoying ghost images that often appear in other AR, allowing maximum transparency, which makes them almost invisible not only to the user but also to their interlocutors.
In lens designs, a preview of soon to be launched products was given to the partners, which would offer increased comfort and exceptional optics to the wearers. Alongside the new products, the new marketing campaign for its flagship brand Nova, featuring its global brand ambassador Jacqueline Fernandez was unravelled at this Summit. In this new campaign, with Nova being repositioned as ‘Complete Eyewear’, Jacqueline sports the new categories in lenses, frames and sunglasses with great élan and effectively showcases the availability of the wide range of vision solutions in fashionable frames under one single brand. The other two attractions of the Nova’s product marketing included ‘Nova Combos’ which offers fashionable Nova Frames with Nova Lenses at a single price and ‘Try on App’, an app-based tool which provides customers a virtual preview on how they look as they click on their choice of frames and sunglasses on the app screen.
Also since innovation doesn’t just mean new product development but also entails how business decisions and initiatives are taken to keep up with the changing times, an informative and invigorating Panel Discussion was part of this Summit, focusing on the topic “Emerging Trends that are Redefining the Global Retail Business and its Challenges”, inviting a fruitful exchange of pragmatic ideas and solutions among the participants on the current issues faced by optical retail partners. The panellists comprising of eminent players across the globe and professionals from the eyewear industry shared their perspectives on the changes experienced by the optical industry with the advent of digital revolution, and how businesses are now being reinvented to stay ahead in the growing competitive market and thus, in turn, enlightening the audience on the subject altogether.
The partners were also given a tour of the fully integrated lab of Vision Rx in Gurgaon equipped with the latest cutting edge technology in digital surfacing, remote edging, coating & tinting processes. With two more new labs in place, the production facility of the lab has grown in size to a total of 1,80,000 sq.ft, complete with the new high-speed edging machines in the lab it is now possible to deliver higher volumes in much lesser time. The entire process of lens generation at the lab is fully automated involving the use of state-of-the-art robotic technology supervised by expert professionals to deliver efficient services.
The two -day conference in Gurgaon was followed by an exciting tour to Jodhpur in Rajasthan. The global partners of Vision Rx Lab were hosted at two luxury heritage properties, Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace and Taj Hari Mahal, where they were treated to a royal experience of rich Indian culture and traditions through a series of cultural programmes, exotic culinary offerings and enriching sights of the city’s historic spots and landmarks in the last leg of VRX Global Summit.
