Google and Gentle Monster have revealed the first design from their AI-powered smart eyewear collaboration, offering an early look at a more fashion-led approach to wearable technology. Unveiled at Google I/O 2026, the smart glasses are developed alongside Samsung and powered by Android XR and Gemini AI.
Set to launch later this year, the collection will feature audio-enabled glasses with built-in speakers, microphones and a camera, allowing users to listen to music, take calls, capture images and interact hands-free with Gemini AI.
The partnership reflects a growing shift toward fashion-conscious wearable technology, blending advanced functionality with wearable design. Google is also expanding its Android XR ecosystem through partnerships with Warby Parker and Kering Eyewear, signalling broader ambitions in AI-powered eyewear.
