MEI Presents CoreTBA

MEI officially presents CoreTBA, the All in One, Block-free Lens Generator, along with the latest lens edging solutions at MIDO 2023

MEI returns to MIDO again this year with two booths: one with the industrial solutions (Hall 6, Stand T66) and one entirely dedicated to EasyFit Trend, the compact edger dedicated to retail users (Hall 3, Stand E01F03).

The company is officially presenting in MIDO 2023 the CoreTBA, the new All in one Block-free Digital Lens Generator. This new machine represents a game changer in the industry and a revolution in the lens generation process. With its Block-free system, for the first time in history, labs can avoid using tapes, blocks, and wax, or Alloy. This means that it’s not necessary to have taping, de-taping, blocking, and de-blocking machines in the production line anymore. Moreover, with its Dry Cut technology, the CoreTBA doesn’t need a water filtering system and helps you save money and protect the environment.

CoreTBA includes seven essential stages of the lens production process in one single unit, with the smallest footprint on the market. All processes, from the digital generation, through the engraving, polishing, and washing, are integrated into one unit. In order to achieve a short machining cycle, all processes occur in parallel, and every section of the unit is fed by a tray conveyor system and digitally controlled loading arms.

By applying its patent-pending block-free technology, MEI cleaned up everything outside the lens generation process, leaving no more than the core of the process itself.

MEI will also show all the edging solutions perfect for any kind of optical shop, small and big labs, offering excellent throughput, great flexibility, and best-in-class quality control capability.

The 4RacerTBA Swift features unparalleled automatic inspection abilities and fast self-controlled edging process, with the smallest physical and environmental footprint of the market. With its new control unit and the new lens loading program, the 4RacerTBA Swift improves further the already unmatched productivity of the 4RacerTBA, being able now to edge up to 200 lenses/hour, processing 8 lenses at the same time with extreme quality and precision. The machine performs all needed quality inspection tasks, analyzing 100% of the production, to guarantee the MEI Total Quality Control.

BispheraTBA Phoenix is the new MEI lens edger perfect for any kind of small and big lab. The machine is completely renewed in the exterior design, mechanical structure, and user interface. The footprint remained the same, but the active parts and the mainframe have been redesigned. This new machine provides excellent throughput, and with the tool-changing system that allows adding tools with special profiles, provides the flexibility needed for special jobs and engraving features.

Developed from MEI’s experience in manufacturing lens edging machines, the EasyFit Trend is the block-less compact solution tailored for optical shops and small labs. This new edger represents a further breakthrough for the field with its unique features, including:

  • the high precision and reliability of milling technology.
  • Eco-friendly Dry Cut technology with saving 1 million liters / 264k gallons a year.
  • the “No Block” system that eliminates blocks and pads.

MEI will preview at MIDO also the Easy Buddy, the innovative robotic arm that can load the lenses into your EasyFit Trend lens edger. The Sphera2Plus XL provides a superior competitive advantage for edging piano lenses and masks from any plastic material due to excellent edge quality, high throughput, minimal maintenance costs, ease of operation, and overall reliability.
