SIOF 2026: Uniting Global Eyewear

The 24th edition of the China (Shanghai) International Optics Fair (SIOF 2026) opened on March 2 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

Over three days, the exhibition covered 100,000sqm and welcomed 800+ exhibitors from China and abroad.

With six themed zones, the fair presented a comprehensive panorama of the eyewear industry’s full-chain ecosystem. Guided by the theme i Start a New Vision, SIOF 2026 highlighted internationalisation, innovation and design.

The fair drew 125, 000 times of visiting from 97 countries and regions, underscoring Shanghai as a prime trading platform for the global eyewear industry.

International Participation
160 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions showcased 285 international brands.

Leading global groups such as Marchon, Marcolin, Safilo, Stepper and Silhouette presented their latest collections.

First-time participants included BREVNO (Russia), EVONIK (Germany), A.KJÆRBED (Denmark), SIIYN (Korea) and Itok Lens (Japan), adding fresh perspectives and vitality.

The N1 Business Matching Zone facilitated targeted one-on-one negotiations with procurement delegations from Southeast Asia, Africa, Russia and Belt & Road countries, ensuring practical outcomes beyond exhibition display.

Innovation Highlights
Debut of a 15,000sqm Independent Brand Hall, featuring five exclusive pavilions: ZEISS (N6), Huiding (E9), Lipo (E10), Schneider Kreuznach (E8) and Design Fun (N9).

Launch of the Smart Eyewear Zone (N10), where 16 exhibitors showcased innovations in AR glasses and smart audio eyewear.

Rare collections from the Tianjin Standard Eyewear Museum and Wuhan Jingyi Eyewear Museum were presented in an East-West fusion format, emphasising the cultural depth of eyewear heritage.

SIOF 2026 successfully demonstrated the vitality and market potential of the industry, while reaffirming China’s position as a global hub for optics and eyewear.
