The prestigious VisionPlus Awards that began its journey in India five years ago, will be held in Cairo this year
Do you remember the glorious VisionPlus Awards? Of course, you do. The first session of the awards was conducted in India on March 09, 2014 and it was one of the first initiatives of its kind in India. It was highly appreciated not only by the optical fraternity but also by the participating brands.
The awards have come a long way in recognising the stalwarts of the trade along the way and celebrating their achievements on a grand platform. From having a successful awards night in India, VisionPlus Awards has continued to be one of the most important events of the optical industry. The tremendous support from some of the leading brands across the globe, VisionPlus Awards has come amid rising oceans from India to the Middle East and now Egypt!
But with brands participating and opticians voting the awards caters to the optical industry as a whole and not a single region. This is beneficial for the industry, as the true essence of the brand will be understood and a true review is put out for the entire industry.
On April 11, 2020 eyewear brands from across the world will gather at the Cairo International Conference Center, Naser City to celebrate the new innovations in designs and technology, the big achievements of the year for brand owners. True to its purpose, CiO VP Awards will invite participation from members of the optical trade community in the region to pick their favourite brands.
Siraj Bolar, Editor-in-Chief, VisionPlus Magazine said, “Words can not express the motivation and encouragement that the optical trade community has provided to these Awards. This year too, I am confident we will establish new records. I am excited to witness the innovations and fashion updates from the eyewear brands as we open the doors to one of the most coveted events of the eyewear industry.”
In its previous edition, the CiO VP Awards recognised 18 winners. Needless to say, all those who walked away with the glimmering trophy had reasons to celebrate. After all, it was a competition of the best against the best and they were winners. All the participants of the awards are winners given the tough competition at every stage. What awaited the jury rounds and voting was a night full of excitement, celebration and of course festivity as the stalwarts of the trade were honoured.
Waleed El-Shazly, the executive director of CiO said, “I am honoured to be associated with the CiO VP’ AWARDS. Last year, when we hosted the grand celebration in Cairo, it was heartening to see opticians come out in big numbers to support the platform and its cause. The competition was healthy as even arch-rivals celebrated their victory on a common platform. This year, we are expecting an even stronger response given the popularity of the awards.”
From the latest in technology to the newest that the brands have to offer, this is one platform where you are going to see it all. One can not forget the successful start to the awards in India which is one of the main reasons the awards have become extremely important in the optical fraternity globally.
