The new eyewear collection’s distinctive stylistic details and colour palette choices reflect the brand’s unconventional attitude
DSQUARED2 presents its new Spring/Summer 2015 eyewear collection: sunglasses and optical frames that reflect the brand’s unconventional attitude and strong identity through distinctive stylistic details and colour palette choices. DSQUARED2 eyewear is for fashion-conscious consumers who like to interpret their style differently every day.
SUN COLLECTION:
Flat profiles and a sophisticated design are the outstanding features of Marcus men’s sunglasses (DQ0161). This large, rectangular model is reminiscent of a typically 1970s shape; a metal insert across the top of the front and extending to cover the temple ends adds an irreverent touch.
Contemporary design and refined details give Harry men’s sunglasses (DQ0164) a winning edge. The style features a square shaped acetate front with slightly rounded profiles, and a chic thin metal bridge for a subtle vintage twist.
A perfect combination of retro hints and contemporary allure, the new Lollo style (DQ0166) celebrates the brand’s signature aesthetics with a markedly feminine model. Innovative volumes create a modern architectural shape embodied in a metal cat eye silhouette.
With its large square shape and assertive geometric profiles, the new Doris women’s style (DQ0167) exudes the brand’s glam rock taste. The distinctive logo plate and chain on the temples is a clear reference to DSQUARED2 accessories.
Elisabeth (DQ0168) features a wide frame with a pronounced cat eye shape emphasised by crystals applied to the upper corners of the front. The romantic italics of the brand’s logo on the temples enhance the style’s feminine charm. In the more subdued optical version, Elisabeth comes in a black frame decorated with transparent crystals.
The square shape and captivating colour contrasts of Patrick men’s sunglasses (DQ0169) bring back the spirit of the 1980s. The lenses are contoured with a slim profile contrasting with the outer acetate front, creating a totally new colour effect.
A bold personality also characterises Patricia (DQ0170), a distinctly feminine model that again plays with chromatic contrast, with the cat eye shaped acetate front featuring profiles in a contrasting colour all around the lenses.
A camouflage motif jazzes up the temples in the unisex Preston model (DQ0171). The front of these square shaped frames is made of clear acetate offered in a range of pastel colours. Its geometric shape, unique colour combinations and innovative mix of materials emphasise the modern personality of this model, in pure DSQUARED2 style.
The large, bold shape of Jane women’s sunglasses (DQ0175) conveys a strong personality along with a marked sense of formal rigour. The square shaped front is enlivened with animalier acetates that bring out the style’s sensual and alluring appeal.
Dramatic colour block effects are the key feature of the new, distinctly contemporary Kim women’s style (DQ0176): a perfect blend of elegance and sporty inspirations. Innovative colour combinations define the front, giving a spirited look to its geometric shape.
Featuring a 1970s inspired aviator design, the metal frame of Larry (DQ0177) men’s sunglasses is enlivened with a double bridge and temples in contrasting colours, emphasising its casual look and trendy allure.
In Frances (DQ0189), thick profiles are the key feature of this unexpected women’s frame exuding feminine charm. Concealed behind mirror lenses and a large, square acetate shape, the eyes take on an irresistibly mysterious allure.
OPTICAL COLLECTION:
The ‘logomania’ theme gives zest to the DQ5138 women’s frame, featuring a square shaped acetate front ingeniously matched with thick temples covered throughout with the word Dsquared in contrasting colour to the background.
No frills and total comfort are brilliantly achieved in the new DQ5140 women’s acetate and metal with 3D thicknesses. Colour plays alternating with transparencies adorning the front; on the temple ends, the fretwork logo appears through an elegant metal detail.
The vintage feel of the cat eye lenses is emphasised by colour that sets off the upper corners of the DQ5142 optical style for women. Chic, tiny overlapping metal plates decorate the front; the temples are customised with the elegant logo in italics.
Retro reminiscences blend with cool notes in the slightly rounded shape of the new DQ5144 unisex optical frame. Soft transparencies lighten up the bold profiles both on the front and on the temples, where the logo is visible through the material.
DQ5146 is a large metal pilot frame for men featuring a sophisticated double bridge. At the ends of the acetate temples, a coloured plate bears the date 1964, the year that designers Dean and Dan Caten were born, along with the maple leaf, both iconic elements of the DSQUARED2 brand.
Retro-inspired looks and contrasting metal details like the bridge and the temples are the most striking features of the DQ5137 rectangular acetate frame. A must-have accessory for those who like to surprise, this model can be turned into an exclusive, contemporary sun style using the dedicated lightweight clip-on sunglasses.
DSQUARED2’s Tanabe (DQ5154) features a strong retro design. Its square shaped silhouette and clean, bold profile are reminiscent of the glasses worn by artists and intellectuals in the 1960s. The graceful symphony of geometric lines and curvy, convex surfaces that characterise this model are most effectively expressed in the black monochrome version and in the modern masculine tones of brown horn and streaked grey.
