On completion of this course, the practitioner will be able to advice the right kind of spectacle frame, contact lenses or ophthalmic lenses that will not only protect the eyes during sporting activities but also provide best vision enhancement.
The practitioner will have an understanding of how to choose the right kind of lens design and enhancement suitable for the vision needs of the given prescription and sporting activity

COURSE TOPICS
Spectacle Frames
Course Objective :To get the practitioner to understand indications for sports requirementsand protective eyewear. Availability of spectacle frames and sunglasses for leisure sports like swimming and other outdoor activities. Dispensing of special frames with prescription lenses.
Ophthalmic Lenses
Course Objective :To get the practitioner to understand indications for sports requirementslike UV protection, glare, improved contrast sensitivity etc. and availability of ophthalmic lens materials like polycardonates and trivex. Availability of special lenses designs among progressives additional lenses for leisure sports like golf and billiards. To understand the dispensing techniques and measurements involved for the same.

Course Objective :To get the practitioner to understand indications for sports requirements. Features and benefits of using contact lenses over spectacles for sports in terms of qualityof vision, enhanced visual field etc. Availability of range of contact lens designs, materials and modalities for leisure sports like swimming and other outdoor activities.
