The event showcased the best of Chinese and international brands to visitors, helping promote business networking and boosting sales

China (Shanghai) International Optics Fair, one of the leading optical trade fairs of Asia, took place from March 1-3, 2015, at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Centre, occupying all the 4 exhibition halls with a massive exhibition area of over 80,000 square metres. Hall 2 was the prestigious international product hall, while Halls 1, 3 and 4 accommodated iconic Chinese exhibitors. In order to provide Chinese eyewear designer brands with a global platform, the basement concourse was deployed as the Chinese ‘Fashion Designers’ Masterpieces Exhibition Hall’, while Hall 4 took on the important role of ‘Boutique Gallery’, both designated to showcase China’s best eyewear designs.
SIOF 2015’s Procurement Zone was designed to facilitate buyers to place orders for their desired products. Renowned international exhibitors who acquired space in the Procurement Zone in addition to their booth area included 101 Studio, Flair, Kalla, Luxottica, Porsche and Ports.
All SIOF editions have topped the Asian list of 1st class eyewear exhibitions in terms of the number of brands. SIOF 2015 saw 285 international exhibitors from 23 countries and regions and 387 global brands. 655 Chinese exhibitors participated in the show, which hosted buyers from 67 countries and regions.
The event was supported jointly by Korea Optical Industry Support Centre and Korea Optometric Association. A total of 42 Korean exhibitors attended the event. 20 major German players fully supported SIOF 2015, including Buhler, Carl Zeiss, Flair, ic! berlin, Lotos, Lunor, Markus-T, MENRAD, Mykita, Optotech, Porsche Design, Rodenstock, Satisloh, Schneider, Stepper and Weco. The event also saw 33 Japanese exhibitors including Aoyama, Canon, Fukui Megane, Grand Seiko, Hoya, Inon, Mitsubishi, Mitsui, Neitz, Nidek, Seed, Tomey, Tokai and Topcon, showcasing world-class products to visitors.
SIOF 2015 enjoyed collaboration with all the acclaimed Chinese and international optical publications, optical associations and optical show organising counterparts to maximise coverage and long term exchanges, including FourPlus Media (India), China Glasses Science-Technology (China), DIOPS (Korea), Eyefocus (Korea), Korea Optical Industry Support Center (KOISC, Korea), Korea Optometric Association (Korea), Eyezone (Kuwait), GANKYO (Japan) and Hong Kong Optical Manufacturers Association (Hong Kong).
The next SIOF, the 16th China (Shanghai) International Optics Fair, is scheduled to take place from February 24-26, 2016.
