The 28th China International Optics Fair, focused on displaying the latest in cutting-edge products and technology as well as eyewear in front of a global audience
Endorsed by The Ministry of Commerce of China as one of their 108 recognised distinguished exhibitions, which are reviewed on an annual basis and receive ample support and attention from the Chinese Government, China National Light Industry Council as one of the best 10 exhibitions in China and Beijing Municipal Commission of Commerce, CIOF 2015 was a grand success.
Held on September 9 – 11, 2015 at the China international Exhibition Centre in Beijing, this year’s exhibition emerged as an excellent networking platform for members of the optical trade from all over the world.
Advocation of high technologies deployment was the main theme of CIOF 2015. The show was attended by 801 exhibitors in total including 248 international exhibitors and 553 Chinese exhibitors, with 261 global brands and 1108 Chinese brands respectively from 22 countries and regions on display.
In an exhibition area of 55,000 square metres, there were Procurement Zones at China International Exhibition Centre’s Administration Building (Seminar Rooms) and the adjacent Radisson Blu Hotel Beijing for buyers to place purchasing orders onsite.
553 Chinese exhibitors were present, including participation groups from various eyewear production bases of the country like Shenzhen, Henggang and Yuhuan.
The exhibition displayed and demonstrated the latest optical products, ranging from spectacle frames, sunglasses, lenses to contact lenses, from visual test equipment, machinery and raw materials for making spectacle frames and lenses to instruments for optometry and ophthalmology, even extending their range to the realm of low vision test equipment and optical software.
In relation to overseas group participation at CIOF 2015, the event also witnessed Korean Optical Industry Agency showcasing frames, contact lenses, lenses and state of the art equipment. Over 200 square metre exhibition area had been dedicated for member companies. The Hong Kong Optical Manufacturers Association, supported by the Hong Kong Productivity Council, organised 500 square metres area for leading spectacle frames, lens, and sunglasses brands of their members.
CIOF 2015 also witnessed the participation of Luxottica this September as a seasoned exhibitor which expanded its usual exhibition area by 43 percent when compared to last year.
Safilo, another forerunner in the eyewear market, the second largest eyewear manufacturer, was also among the distinguished veterans who showcased their collection this year at CIOF 2015. Designer brand participants, such as: Boston Club, Chrome Heart, Fleye, Italian Independent, Lafont, Lindberg, Lunor, Markus-T, Monoqool, Moscot, Mykita, Plus, Staffan Preutz Design, Yohji Yamamoto & etc; Contact lens brands such as Interojo, Woehlk, Zeiss & etc; and machinery and equipment brands like Canon, Nidek, Norville Autoflow, Optotech, Satishloh, Schneider, Topcon & etc. were also among those who participated this year.
The Korean Optical Industry Agency who was present with over 200 square metre exhibition area showcased collections of its member companies. The Hong Kong Optical Manufacturers Association, supported by the Hong Kong Productivity Council, organised a similar set-up over 500 square metres area for leading spectacle frames, lens, and sunglasses brands of their members.
