The Diamante pattern comes from the heart of Gucci’s heritage and, translated in a glitter version, lights up the House’s new Spring/Summer 2013 sunglasses and optical frames: a unique capsule collection created for contemporary, sensual and sophisticated women.
The Diamond Glitter sunglasses and optical frames reflect Gucci’s traditions reinterpreted with a modern, exclusive twist. The new models in Optyl, a registered trademark for an ultra-lightweight plastic material with unparalleled color effects, are made using unique manufacturing techniques. A fine sheet of glittering silk inside the frame gives these models a sparkling allure and a refined silky effect. The new models are embellished externally with the Diamante pattern that conveys the brand’s stylistic identity.
This iconic motif is tied to Gucci’s history and dates back to the 1930s, when it was first used on luggage. The distinctive crisscross pattern, which features small connecting diamonds in shades of dark brown on a beige background, became the Florentine House’s first signature print.
This pattern, with its elegant and subtle style, also adorns the new Gucci eyewear collection, which includes six sunglasses and two optical frames, as well as three unique Asian Fit sunglasses. The Diamond Glitter models feature the GG metal logo on the initial part of the temples and come in shades of black/gold, brown/gold, beige/ice, blue/silver, black/silver, Havana/gold, red/gold.
