Star Attractions Lined Up For VisionPlus Dubai EXPO 2022

Trends and Technology. Business and Networking. Training and Education. Awards and Recognition. The list goes on…

VisionPlus EXPO of Dubai is promising an even bigger show this year which would raise the bar for optical trade exhibitions globally. From more space to exhibit to new brands on board and even concept-driven displays through Project Eyewear, VisionPlus EXPO 2022 is all set to give participants a truly grand experience.

From the exhibitor perspective, the exposure that their brands get to the lucrative markets of the Middle East, Africa and South Asia is a huge draw in itself.

Plus they get to capitalise on the location of the exhibition – Dubai, which has emerged as a central hub for various businesses including optical trade. Leading brands have confirmed their participation at the event and would showcase their new ‘VisionPlus EXPO Collections’ for the buyers in the region.

Exhibitors would have direct access to international buyers and decision-makers. The show would also give a chance for regional businesses to go global in every way. After all, it is the only international optical trade fair in the region.

Prominent international brands have already confirmed their participation in the upcoming edition - ZEISS, Schneider, Monogram, OptiSwiss, MEI, Minima, LaFont, Future Optics, Al Hadad and Daria were also part of the maiden edition.

Having gained from their presence at the grand exhibition last year, they are among the many that were quick to grab the opportunity this year.

VisionRx (Nova)  and Jowoon Innovation are among the new entrants at the exhibition this year that are bound to get the attention of the visitors.

Star attractions at the event

This is a unique featured area to be included as part of the VisionPlus EXPO. It will promote budding designers and startup eyewear companies. As a visitor, you get a chance to tap these brands at an early stage and build long lasting partnerships. Plus, their designs could add a lease of freshness to your regular display.

Carrying forward the legacy from its debut at the maiden edition of the VisionPlus EXPO, VP Academy will host sessions this year as well. The extensive knowledge sharing sessions will include lectures on ophthalmic lens technology; myopia management, best practices for dispensing contact lens, managing digital eye strain, updates on future technologies, and several other key subjects.

There is great news for all those who are waiting to upgrade their education in optometry and earn CME points. Every participant stands to gain through the various sessions hosted by VP Academy, as part of the expo. The unique knowledge-sharing concept was well-received in the maiden edition of the VisionPlus EXPO with participants coming from far off countries, going through the requisite covid protocols, in order to be able to attend the VP Academy sessions. Clearly, VP Academy is set to be one of the biggest attractions at this year’s event too!

A bona fide celebration of Arabian optical business – these awards receive nominations from leading brands across the globe. This year too, the industry is looking forward to the VP Awards – a night of glamour where attendees celebrate the achievements of the optical industry.

Dedicated pavilions at the expo will showcase leading brands from countries like Germany, France, Italy, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, India and Turkey, among others.

The second edition of the VisionPlus EXPO is set to open its doors for visitors on 19-20-21 October 2022 in Dubai.

Let's explore what makes the VisionPlus EXPO special this year

We speak to Jasbir Bolar,
Marketing Director – FourPlus Media to find out

VisionPlus (VP): With the success of the maiden edition, the expectations from the upcoming event will be high. What would be different this year?

From the centralised location to the world-class infrastructure, participants at the VisionPlus EXPO stand to gain and only gain. The pandemic was tough but the very fact that the industry came out to participate in VisionPlus EXPO last year is an indication that the spirit is stronger than ever.

This is in fact the inspiration for us. It makes us want to live up to expectations and deliver an even bigger and better edition this year.

The exhibition space is bigger, we have got more brands on board, even dedicated international pavilions and of course unique concepts like Project Eyewear. With all of this, we are ensuring that the attendees get the best possible experience – bringing all aspects of the industry under one roof.

That sounds interesting. Can you enumerate the key reasons as to why an optical brand should participate in the VisionPlus EXPO 2022?

Like I said, the VisionPlus EXPO 2022 is going to be a grand experience for the exhibitor and the visitor. It is the only international show in the MENA region that brings together the latest from the global optical trade under one roof. Plus, the success of the maiden edition has made Dubai a central procurement hub for the optical industry.

For an exhibitor, we bring them the exposure to prospective buyers from several parts of the world. We managed to bring together visitors from 59 countries last year, this year we have set our target at 70+ countries.

Another reason for exhibitors to participate would be to capitalise on the extensive marketing and promotion campaigns being undertaken for this year’s event.

And finally, the VisionPlus EXPO acts as the perfect platform to showcase their products and expertise to the region in a beautiful place like Dubai. And let's not forget the chance to celebrate the best in the eyewear industry with the coveted VP Awards (Arabia).

And what’s in it for visiting opticians?

From the point of view of an optician, participating in the event can give them an excellent networking opportunity, where they will have colleagues from all over the region attending the event.

Along with this, they get to have a chance to check out the latest trends in eyewear fashion and optical technology.

Leading global brands have already confirmed their participation in this edition. We hope to create a holistic marketplace which will allow the buyers to source everything that they would need to procure for their optical business.

And lastly, the exhibition allows the sharing of knowledge by the best in the industry through the expert sessions hosted by
VP Academy.

During the last show there was the EXPO 2020 Dubai and ICC World Cup matches that were an additional draw for visitors to come to Dubai. Are you expecting anything like that this year too?

Dubai as a destination will always have something to offer to people visiting. Be it shopping, sightseeing or exploring culinary delights, Dubai has it all! Dubai remains ever-changing, offering visitors new attractions to immerse themselves. This year Dubai has new features such as Ain Dubai and the Museum of the Future which are huge draws.

I am sure whoever visits Dubai - be it for business or leisure will have a fruitful time. I would invite the optical industry to come to Dubai and join us in celebrating eyewear!
