Sama eyewear opens boutique in Dubai
Los Angeles-based luxury sunglass and optical line Sama Eyewear has opened its first stand-alone boutique in the Middle East at Cove Beach, Dubai. The 1,000-square-foot store, the company’s third after West Hollywood and Beverly Hills, includes a custom lens bar and will also carry Sama’s newest collection, called Decode: L.A., plus an upcoming line designed specially for the region.
Sama is sold in more than 50 countries and is worn by celebrities such as Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, Sarah Jessica Parker, LeBron James and Fergie. Middle Eastern luminaries such as musician Haifa Wehbe, Egyptian actor Mohamed Karim and director AliMustafah also wear Sama eyewear.
“The Middle East is seen as one of the fashion capitals of the world and our clientele is growing there exponentially,” said Sama founder and chief executive officer Sheila Vance. It is the first of several boutiques the brand plans to open in the Gulf Cooperation Council states in addition to distribution in specialty retailers and department stores in the region, including Bloomingdale’s and Harvey Nichols.
Sama will also launch the Thomas Wylde for Sama capsule collection for the summer.
