The grant would assist in the renovation of the physical plant and educational equipment at the school’s teaching laboratory
Hoya Vision Care presented a $25,000 grant to go towards the renovation of the physical plant and educational equipment at the U.C. Berkeley School of Optometry teaching laboratory. Students will have a more contemporary environment to learn and practice their knowledge and skills in the clinical area of ophthalmic optics.
“The field of optometry, especially independent practice optometry, is going to be very exciting. It is HOYA’s desire to make a meaningful contribution to the success of our future peers,” said Barney Dougher, President of HOYA Vision Care, North America.
Mike Elton, Director of Professional Services, and Joan Craig, Area Representative, presented the check for the grant to Dean Flanagan on November 19th who noted, “Having the appropriate space and equipment is an important component that complements outstanding instruction. We are looking forward to working with HOYA more in the future.”
