The 33rd China International Optics Fair (CIOF 2020) has been cancelled due to the resurgent outbreak of COVID-19 in Beijing in early June, 2020. The new dates could be somewhere in September 2021.
Orient International Exhibition Co Ltd, the organisers of the China International Optics Fair (CIOD 2020) have issued a statement saying that due to the resurgent outbreak of COVID-19 in Beijing in early June, 2020, CIOF has been cancelled in 2020. The People’s Government of Beijing Municipality modified the “Emergency Response Level” from Level 3 to Level 2, thereby halting all large-scale activities, followed by the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau’s decision to suspend issuing approval documents to give green light to such, large-scale activities including CIOF 2020.
The subsiding timeline also makes it unfeasible for the organising Committee, to effectively implement stand allocation, stand design, information dissemination and all other related work, with visitor and media promotion being the most important task that we are concerned about. Therefore, in the best interests of all exhibitors and visitors and to safeguard their health and well-being, the Organizing Committee of the 33rd China International Optics Fair (CIOF 2020), after very thorough considerations, has confirmed to postpone the event to the ideal slot of September 2021.
