The association organized a fun-filled evening for guests and members alike
Mumbai Optical Association, on 7th May, 2014, organized a musical event – ‘Retro to Metro’ for its members, which also coincided with the associations’ 17th Annual General Meeting.
The event was held at Navin Thakkar Hall in Vile Parle (East) in Mumbai, and witnessed several of Mumbai’s optical community gather under one roof for an informal meet-up. Renowned personalities from the industry, like Mr Baldev Sawhney – President of Mumbai Optical Assocation (MOA) and owner of Kool-On Opticals, Mr Ketan Parikh – Vice President MOA and owner of Sterling Meta Plast Pvt Ltd, Mr Adamjibhai Chasmawalla from F A Chasmawalla, Mr Abhilash Khara – Secretary of MOA and owner of Mangalsons Group were seen enjoying the evening.
The AGM was held from 7:30 to 8:30, post which, guests were treated to a sumptuous dinner spread. An evening of fun-filled and nostalgic music then awaited the guests, who were entertained up until late in the night.
Mr Pancham Kulkarni, a senior faculty member from Lotus College of Optometry, provided information about the college’s Dispensing Optician Programme, aimed at educating the opticians in India.
Members from Mumbai Suburban Optical Association were also present at the event, and appreciated the initiative taken by the Mumbai Optical Association towards strengthening the local optical community.
The event continued till way past midnight but the guests were not complaining, and instead, were seen enjoying the musical show.
