Region’s biggest optical health, eyecare and eyewear business event, the Vision-X 2015 exhibition brought together international trends, technologies and designs from across the Middle East, North Africa and other parts of the world

The 16th edition of Vision-X concluded its 3 day exhibition from 6th to 8th December, 2015 at the luxurious Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC). The biggest optical and eyewear trade event of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region saw a surplus of international buyers and sellers appreciating trends, technologies and designs showcased during the event. With an exceptional lineup of global brands on display, Vision-X underlined its position as the premier optical and eyewear event in the region by welcoming more than 140 exhibitors from 29 countries and representing 265 brands from regional and international market at this edition.
His Excellency Humaid Mohammed Obaid Al Qatami, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority opened the Vision-X 2015 exhibition on the first day, accompanied by His Excellency Helal Saeed Almarri, Director General, Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing. The international participation witnessed an impressive increase in this edition. This clearly highlighted the growing interests from global players in the regional market. The German pavilion continued to be the largest on the exhibition floor, while Japanese exhibitors made a their presence felt with their first independent pavilion.
An important part of the event, the Vision-X Opticare Conference, accredited by the Dubai Health Authority, once again provided an excellent opportunity for local and international delegates to enhance their knowledge and understanding in the field of optometry. Working in tandem with the exhibition, the conference involved experts delivering sessions and lectures on topics such as myopia, low vision, paediatrics and optical business management.
Underlining Dubai’s position as second only to London in luxury retail, the exhibition is hugely popular with the world’s top fashion houses and designers, with a star-studded line-up of the optical industry’s biggest names rolling out dedicated eyewear lines. The Style Atelier area also had leading niche fashion brands’ presentation from Europe and the USA.
Another highlight of the event, the Vision-X VP Awards, a collaboration with VisionPlus Magazine, was a gala affair where the focus was on celebrating the excellence in the optical trade. The evening witnessed stalwarts from the optical trade being felicitated with the coveted trophy. had a gala evening where fifteen winners were announced at the glamorous ceremony.
With a new level of success set by the 2015 Vision-X exhibition, the next edition is scheduled from 25th – 27th October, 2016 at the Dubai World Trade Centres and is one of the most highly anticipated event of the trade.
