The nominations of VisionPlus Awards (Arabia) 2022 were announced recently, where the final shortlisted entries were put out for voting by the optical fraternity in MENA region.

MCLAREN-MLOP-98S0103 was one of the Five entries nominated in the Best New Functional Eyewear (Sports) category.


With its urban shapes and its new patented hinge, the Openmatic Series is based on a new approach and a strong will to develop comfortable and stylish sport frames easy to fit in all circumstances. The exclusive Openmatic hinge incorporates a flexible U-Blade with a 360-degree shock absorber, allowing to open and close the temples automatically by a simple finger pressure. A new addictive playful feeling of opening the glasses in a flash ! The 3D printed PA12 front face only consume material that is strictly necessary, for sustainability concerns. The recycled stainless steel arched temples are treated with PVD coating for long lasting colors. Added to its global lightness, it keep the glasses on your face even during the most dynamic use. The tips of the temples have been designed to be perfectly adjusted, if necessary, to your anatomy without having to heat them.

The nominations were selected by the special Jury comprising five of the most prominent optical retailers in the Middle East. Each entry was rated by them on varied critrea that was unique to each category.

Following the nominations, eye care practitioners and opticians in the MENA region get a chance to VOTE online or through printed Ballot Sheets. Voting has commenced on Aug 24, 2022, and will continue until Oct 07, 2022.
