Modo Acquires Eyewear Brand Lowercase

Eyewear manufacturing company Modo has acquired independent eyewear brand Lowercase based in Brooklyn.

Lowercase, founded by Gerard Masci in 2016, is known for its high-quality frames. The acquisition aims to preserve Lowercase’s unique approach while utilizing Modo’s manufacturing capabilities. Modo will maintain Lowercase’s quality and design, expanding the collection with its expertise. The acquisition was finalized in March, involving the transition of the brand and equipment to Modo’s headquarters and Brooklyn factory.

Masci expressed excitement, stating Lowercase will continue manufacturing in New York City. Modo’s successful track record in Brooklyn aligns with Lowercase’s values and customer base. Combining Modo’s resources with Lowercase’s capabilities and NYC roots, the brands will offer a broader range of eyewear options. Masci anticipates unveiling collaborative products and exciting possibilities for customers.
