From being ‘Posh Spice’ to creating a space for herself in the fashion world in a short span, Victoria Beckham seems to have done it all.
A diva, a prima donna, a wife, a mother and one of the most sought-after fashion icons the world has seen… Yes, being Victoria Beckham may not be as easy it seems. Known as Victoria Adams, she was born in Hertfordshire UK, to affluent parents, who encouraged her love for dancing at a very young age. Having trained at the Laine Arts Theatre College in Surrey, she moved to London at the age of 20 to make it as a dancer and not long after, her lucky break came knocking on the door.
She was chosen amongst 400 women to be a part of a new up and coming pop-band in 1993. And thus, the journey of Spice Girls began. She was united with the lineup that included Melanie, Geri and Emma – four of whom later on went on to adorn their own avatar. Till date they are better known by their avatar than their real names. Their first album released in 1996 sat on top of the charts and their first single Wannabe played at every club one would hit. The album sold nearly 20 million copies worldwide. And Victoria Beckham became better known as Posh Spice. She was named so, because her father used to pick her up from school in a Rolls Royce.
Few years and after a few albums, Posh Spice met the Manchester United prodigy, David Beckham and soon became the most talked about and written about couple across the world.
In 2001 shortly after the Spice Girls split, Victoria Beckham went on to release her first solo album which was self-titled. Victoria Beckham and her husband had become household names and shortly motherhood followed with 4 adorable children. That did not stop her from myriad ventures that she would foray into: she penned her autobiography titled Learning to Fly.

Following the tabloid frenzy over her marriage with David Beckham, Victoria decided to build a fashion empire capitalizing on their popularity. She developed a line of denim wear called VB Rocks for the brand Rock & Republic in 2004. Later she authored a book with fashion advice called Extra Half an Inch: Hair, Heels, and Everything in Between in 2006.
A year later she launched her line of sunglasses called dvb Eyewear and a line of jeans with the same name. Not to mention that she even went back to modelling for Emporio Armani underwear. In 2008 Victoria Beckham inaugurated her perfume line with Intimately Beckham, followed by a well-received collection of dresses and then in 2011 an exquisite line of handbags. That wasn’t all – she went on to then receive the honour as an Office of the Order of the British Empire (OBE).
With the motto to help women to be the best version of themselves, she wanted to create a community of strong women who support each other and help build each other up through her fabulous creations. In the coming years she went on to win many accolades like Best Designer Brand and Brand of Year at the British fashion Awards; Women of the Decade at the Glamour Awards and the Fashion Icon at the E!People’s Choice Awards.
With Beyonce, Cameron Diaz, Kate Winslet, Claire Danes, Naomi Campbell, Sienna Miller prancing their ways on the red carpet wearing Victoria Beckham speaks aplenty of her success and position in Tinseltown. Adding to it 25 million followers on Instagram and more than 5 million in engagements, needless to say, this ‘Posh’ girl is here to stay and make magic through many more coming years as she keeps expanding her product categories.
Recently, Victoria Beckham’s SS20 collection was presented at the Foreign and Commonwealth Offices in London. This was also the first time that her eyewear was the protagonist of the VB runway collection which enriched and added sophistication to four looks.
Her eyewear collection made reviews in many publications as well as worn by many celebrities and influencers around the world. Luxury eyewear designed ergonomically with materials chosen carefully the styles are nothing short of the glamour that VB exudes and the grandeur she holds and the power she brims with.
The new Victoria Beckham eyewear collection mixes the brand’s signature styles, such as the classic aviator and navigator frames, with forward silhouettes, rich with elegance and attitude. The modern constructions combine smooth acetates and golden metallics enhanced with sophisticated details. Bold contours and subtle profiles are flawlessly designed to complement both glamorous and more understated looks.
There’s a lot more to Victoria Beckham than just the hype. While the other Spice Girls may have faded more and more into oblivion, she is the one who displayed staying power. After more than 20 years of marriage, being adored by her husband, kids and fans alike, there’s no real need for anyone to doubt where it was a stroke of luck or was it real talent, commitment and hard work that has put Victoria Beckham where she is today… at the top!
