Chopard, Tom Ford, Loewe, Gucci, Ermenegildo Zegna, Roberto Cavalli, Swarovski and Tod’s in conjunction with the Mid Valley Megamall Fashion Week 2013
Kuala Lumpur, 11 April 2013: The country’s largest optical chain of professional eye care centre, Focus Point showcased the latest Spring/Summer 2013 luxury eyewear collection at its ‘Sight + Style’ runway show at Mid Valley Megamall this evening.
Taking centre stage of the Spring/Summer 2013 eyewear showcase were Chopard, Tom Ford, Loewe, Gucci, Ermenegildo Zegna, Roberto Cavalli, Swarovski and Tod’s.
First to take the center stage was Tom Ford, presenting striking frames that are evolutions of his best-selling eyewear designs. Crafted from exquisite materials and featuring superb fabrications, the new collection includes 22 new sunglass frames and 14 optical frames for women and men. Tom Ford’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection also presented a distinctive men’s optical frame, which is the optical version of the Tom Ford’s Jasper sunglass frames. The models were paired with attire by AT-20 of G2000 to give a stylish, sleek, playful, boyish and classic look, representing modern men.
Next on stage, Chopard’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection celebrates the combination of both the refined design of glasses and the high jewellery creations of the Swiss Maison. Inspired by the exclusive details of the IMPERIALE watch collection, the 2013 eyewear collection focuses on a feministic, modern and timeless touch, conveying elegance through the combination of simplicity and exclusivity. The collection was enhanced by designer pieces by MosasLaw of Tangoo.
The ever-daring Gucci took stage next, with its high effect touches and vibrant preference for colour-blocking Bold with a tinge of chic flavor, Gucci’s eyewear collection is a great look to follow. A 100-year history of couture and male luxury, of passion for exclusive materials and for very high quality, of constant commitment to innovation: these are the distinguishing features of ErmenegildoZegna’s style, to be found in every item created by the Maison as well as in the brand’s Sunglasses Collection. The new glasses bring back to the daily life of an indispensable accessory, the style of a contemporary and cosmopolitan man, a traveller whose elegance is effortless, essential, always self-assured, the result of a deep passion for the Italian, creative and well-balanced style that is embodied by Zegna and that is appreciated all over the world. The apparel is exclusively designed for Focus Point by Kenneth Hoong, which compliments the sophisticated details of the timeless allure.
Roberto Cavalli is one of the most highly appreciated Italian designers in the world today, for his skill in creating a wholly original style that combines luxury and sensuality. Roberto Cavalli’s Spring/Summer 2013 sunglasses is truly romantic and graceful, yet seductive in fashion. The collection is original with serene layering of stitched white transparencies connected with crystal, chiffon, and lace, allowing hardcore maximalists adjust to minimalist days comfortably without losing their identity. The models strutted in apparels by Kenneth Hoongof Butterfly.
Up next, Focus Point brought the audience to Madrid, Spain. Dressed stylishly by Salabianca, Loewe presented a luxury collection for women. The Anagram logo is interpreted on the temples in many different ways: as a small metal detail, enamelled and integrated into a small plaque, or inserted as a 3D detail; while the iconic padlock is widely used to create refined inlays. On the other hand, the sunglasses collection emphasized the idea of a sober and contemporary range of sunglasses. The frames revisit the principles of style and functionality through classic and timelessly elegant styles, reinterpreting the distinguishing features of the brand such as leather and Loewe’s noble yet discreet logo.
Exclusively made in Italy, Tod’s collection for this season was created with a charm of young elegance and effortless style. The Italian brand Tod’s combines the classic features with modern tendencies. Using elements of calfskin along with its signature leather temple bracelets, the brand has released a particularly unforgettable collection of sunglasses. The Spring/Summer collection was paired with attires by Philosophy Men.
The show ended with Swarovski, with apparel designed by Jason Yik. With this new collection of sunglasses, Swarovski displayed an array of eyewear that is stylish yet functional against the sun.
“As the market leader in this industry, we remain committed to our promise which is to bring the latest and the best collections to our fashion savvy customers. We have specially handpicked all the collections, which are being showcased here tonight.” said Dato’ Liaw, President / CEO of Focus Point Holdings Berhad.
