Optical industry converges in big numbers from across the globe to discuss the latest in trends and technology at the Malaysian Optical Fair (MOF)

The Malaysian Optical Fair 2015 was held on 19th and 20th April 2015 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The theme of the fair was ‘Towards Unity – We Define and Unify Vision Industry’. For the first time, the Malaysian Optical Fair was organized in association with AMO (Association of Malaysian Optometrists), MOA (Malaysian Optometry Association), and MOWA (Malaysian Optical Wholesalers Association) making it the biggest of its kind platform for the optical traders in the region. The event was a huge success with visitors from all over the world attended the event in huge numbers.
The fair emerged as an excellent platform where the members from the local as well as international optical trading community were able to exchange knowledge and update themselves with the latest trends and technology prevalent in the domain. The grand event witnessed a staggering footfall in just two days. Of these, many visitors were also from the international market. Even the optometry students from the local varsities visited the fair in big numbers.
In accordance to the Environmental Awareness Policy adhered to by the organizers, an e-magazine giving details about the fair, was launched instead of the regular hard copy version that existed in the previous editions. The fair was filled with lots of programs from both the exhibitors and organizers. In spite of the recent launch of Malaysian GST rules, the turnout for the event was overwhelming.
There was a post event evaluation done for the exhibitors after the conclusion of the fair. Feedback gathered from the visitors was later processed and assessed for the objective of MOF 2016. The response was extremely positive clearly indicating the success of the event.
