MEI – globally known for introducing milling to the edging process of ophthalmic lenses and currently one of the leading suppliers of industrial machines to lens manufacturers and optical chains around the world – has announced the opening of a branch in Brazil.

The new office, located in São Paulo, is key to bringing technical support to the company’s customers in South America and will serve as a logistic hub for replacement parts and tools for the same area.

Stefano Sonzogni, MEI’s President and Technical Director, explains the move, “The growing number of customers and machines in the South American market made the opening of a branch here a must in order to offer customer assistance and provide technical support for the installation and maintenance of our machines.”

Like the other international branches (Chicago and Hong Kong), the new branch will have expert technicians who can provide installation and maintenance services as well as telephone assistance in the local languages. A sales professional, who is able to demonstrate the machines, will also be a part of the team.
