Taking place from 10 to 12 January 2014 at the Fairground Messe München, the next edition of opti is set to feature twelve opti boxes, an increase on the previous eight. International newcomers from the frames industry will also be taking centre stage at next year’s trade show. Registration is now open for these special stand spaces.

“The opti boxes are a really good idea,” says Jördis Neubauer of Jisco Eyewear. “We were able to give the stand an individual look and truly make our ideas reality.” The company presented its frames for the very first time at opti 2013, bringing a Mediterranean feel to proceedings in Munich with their sand and sun loungers.

“A great thing for new businesses” is how Antonius Huber describes the opti boxes. For Wuid Glasl, it was their first ever appearance at the trade show. “We gained new business partners as a result of taking part,” he tells us. “Most importantly, though, we got a lot of feedback from the professional world and were able to use it to make a few improvements to our product.”

01_opti-boxes_opti_2014_English-2“The opti boxes are the real deal,” says Adrian Marwitz. The boxes gave opticians and journalists the opportunity to gather information specific to start-up businesses. “Many of the international visitors ordered directly at the trade show,” he reports and tells us he expects to be part of next year’s event come rain or shine.

“At opti, visiting professionals get to see new products and trends for the whole industry right at the start of the year,” explains Dieter Dohr, CEO and President of GHM Gesellschaft für Handwerksmessen mbH. “This applies to established brands who are presenting new collections, models and technical innovations as well as to complete newcomers. For start-up companies that have never before presented to an international audience of industry professionals, opti is the first step on the road towards future success. The opti boxes are an ideal platform for this.”

Klaus Peter Kison from Classic Style Eyewear agrees: “It gives new companies the opportunity to take centre stage at affordable prices.” His label debuted internationally at opti 2013, with great success. “We got new customers and one new sales representative on board. What more could you want?” he asks. “Classic Style Eyewear makes glasses for customers who have very particular requirements. When it comes to wowing the right opticians, opti is the best way of doing it!”

For Charmossas too, opti was their very first appearance on a major international scale. “The opti boxes really are a great idea,” thinks Carla Isabel Pires. The boxes give new businesses the chance to participate in a major international trade fair and present themselves alongside big brands known around the world.

Registration is now open for new start-up businesses who wish to sign up for one of the opti boxes in the YES! area of Hall C4. These special stand spaces, which offer a complete package for planning and constructing the stand, can be booked by businesses founded on or after 1 January 2011. Established companies who are debuting innovative labels on a global scale at opti can also apply for an opti box in addition to their main stand. Further information about the opti and taking part in the trade show can be found at www.opti.de/en, by calling the opti team on +49 (0)89 949 55-154, or by e-mailing opti@ghm.de.
