HEXETATE 3.0 Introduces A New Alternative To Acetate

HEXETATE 3.0, developed by H.TECH, introduces a new alternative for designers seeking the visual appeal of acetate with improved production stability.

As eyewear design continues to evolve, so does the search for materials that combine aesthetics with manufacturing efficiency.

Made from PMMA resin using a sheet-making process inspired by traditional acetate, HEXETATE 3.0 retains the rich colour depth, layered patterns and transparency associated with premium plastic frames. Tortoise finishes, horn-inspired effects and wood-like textures remain integral to the material, allowing designers to preserve the character that defines acetate eyewear.

Where HEXETATE 3.0 sets itself apart is in production. The material is around 10% lighter than conventional acetate and has a shrinkage rate of less than 0.1%, helping frames maintain their intended shape throughout manufacturing. Its stability also eliminates the drying stage before CNC milling, reducing production time while simplifying processing on existing acetate manufacturing equipment.

The material is compatible with standard polishing, tumbling and wire-core insertion techniques and supports both PC and AC demo lenses, helping minimise the risk of lens cracking during assembly.

HEXETATE 3.0 is also free from BPA and phthalates and has been tested to meet international standards for chemical safety, perspiration resistance and UV exposure.

For designers and manufacturers alike, HEXETATE 3.0 presents a practical new option that balances creative freedom with production reliability.
