The very first edition of the Vision-X VP Awards – a joint initiative between VisionPlus Arabia Magazine and the organisers of Vision-X Dubai, aimed at recognising the best products in the optical industry, was held in a grand ceremony on 25th November, 2014, during the first day of the Vision-X trade show in Dubai. Introduced as a new concept, the awards received an overwhelming response in terms of participation from some of the leading brands in the optical industry across the globe. The awards were hosted amidst a lot of excitement and fun that filled the evening as the winner’s league of the optical industry could be seen gleaming with pride.

One of the award winners was ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses. Its 1-DAY ACUVUE® MOIST® for ASTIGMATISM was voted the Most Popular Ophthalmic Contact Lens. Naser Qadadhah (Key Account Manager), Aida Tabrizi (Brand Manager) and Tarek Kereknawi (Sales Manager) of Johnson & Johnson were present on the occasion to receive the award.

Acuvue Brand Contact Lenses’ unique Accelerated Stabilisation Design (ASD) feature helps to harness the natural pressure of eyelids during blinking to balance the lens in place and quickly realigns it if it rotates out of position. Its LACREON® technology helps in locking a water binding agent into the proven Etafilcon A material. This ingredient retains moisture, reduces surface friction and leaves the eyes feeling fresh all day long. The product has a Class II UV blocking ability. The lenses are lightly tinted blue so that users can spot them in their lens blister. This product claims to have the widest power range of any daily disposable toric contact lens.
