International Vision Expo & Conference announced Ian Benjamin Gaddie, OD, FAAO as the new co-chairman of the Conference Advisory Board on 16th of July, 2015 in Norway, CT; he shares his thoughts via video interview
The International Vision Expo & Conference, co-owned by Reed Exhibitions and The Vision Council recently invited its newest Co-Chairman of the Board, Dr. Ian Benjamin Gaddie, owner and director of Kentucky-based Gaddie Eye Centers. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, President of the Optometric Glaucoma Society (OGS) and outgoing chairman of the American Optometric Association’s continuing education committee.
Excerpts of his views through a video interview:
TOTAL TEAM APPROACH
Gaddie: “We’re really excited about the total team approach that we bring to Vision Expo. One of the most unique aspects of the meeting is the diversity of topics and the no-barriers openness of the education program which allows attendees to sit, learn and share side by side regardless of title of mode of practice.
We have a program for everyone so when you come back from our meeting, not only are the doctors energized and ready to apply new education concepts to their practice, but opticians are excited about a new frame line or new program to increase sales or efficiency. The whole team comes back energized and it really does make an impact.
In my own experience, our eyecare team is the biggest asset our practice has and attending Vision Expo education is always a worthwhile investment in the growth of our practice, our people, and our patients.”
LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION
Gaddie: “One of the great things about Vision Expo meetings is the actual location of each meeting. Not only are these great locations, they’re the same every year so you always know what you’re going to get. Las Vegas is one of the most exciting cities in the world. It’s unparalleled in glamour, gaming, sports, and overall shopping and life experiences you can have there. Each Vision Expo meeting brings a totally different feel to it but at the same time, you know what you can expect and you really couldn’t pick two better cities than Las Vegas and New York.”
EXPERT COLLABORATION
Gaddie: “I’m really excited to have been appointed conference co-chairman for Vision Expo. This is a great opportunity for myself and for my own professional development. I’m excited about having a great team around me of people that have a lot of experience in education and the tradeshow environment. I’m looking forward to this collaboration to be able to put on one of the best shows in all of eyecare.”
