Maui Jim has announced that the company would be formally collaborating with Optometry Giving Sight through ongoing initiatives from 2014.
The announcement was made at the company’s official dinner at Silmo.
“Giving back is a key value of Maui Jim, and we feel a strategic partnership with Optometry Giving Sight is the most effective way that we can support the development of sustainable eye and vision care programs in underserved communities,” said Martijn van Eerde, International Marketing Manager for Maui Jim. “We are very proud to be a part of this cause, and look forward to involving our customers in a range of exciting initiatives from next year.”
Maui Jim has previously supported Optometry Giving Sight with sport fundraising activities and participation in the World Sight Day Company Challenge in October. From 2014 Maui Jim plans to launch key initiatives to partner with Optometry Giving Sight in a new way across Europe, Middle East, Australia and Mexico.
“We’re very pleased to be formalising this partnership with Maui Jim, and excited at the opportunities to work together on a global scale to improve access to vision care for people in need,” said Donna Power, Regional Manager Europe for Optometry Giving Sight. “Eye wear companies have an important role to play in global efforts to provide universal eye health and can not only provide support in their own right, but through direct engagement with their customers. It’s a win-win situation”.
